May you and your dear family merit celebrating the Festival with bountiful joy and pleasure, holiness and kashrus. May Hashem Yisborach reveal compassion to His nation, extricate them from trials and tribulations, bring salvation quickly and may He show us wonders as in the days of the Exodus…”
Kletsk, 2 Adar, 5699 (1939). Handwritten by a scribe on yeshivah stationery; signed and stamped by Hagaon Harav Aharon Kotler. Small tears on folds. Envelope enclosed.
On Friday, Erev Pesach 1941, Harav Aharon Kotler disembarked upon the safe shores of America. Prior to arranging his holiday needs of matzah and wine for the 4 cups, and even before inquiring as to where he and his family would be staying for the holiday which was only hours away, he set about his lifesaving mission of contacting Jewish activists in New York and exhorting them to obtain exit visas for the talmidim of his yeshivah still trapped in Lithuania and Japan. Exactly two years later, on Erev Pesach 1943, Harav Kotler announced his plan to found Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, prompting a new era of Torah and Judaism in the United States.

Yeshivas Eitz Chaim of Slutsk Relocates to Kletsk
Following oppression and persecution by the Communist regime, the famed Yeshivah of Slutsk under the auspices of Hagaon Harav Isser Zalman Meltzer zt”l relocated from Russia to Kletsk in Poland, where his son-in-law Hagaon Harav Aharon Kotler assumed the position of Rosh Yeshivah.
