Great Chassidic masters extolled the praises of the sefer Meohr Einayim as the ‘Entryway and Gate to Chassidus’ (Harav Yisrael of Ruzhin).
Harav Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev attests in his endorsement that “All his words are the words of the Living G-d.”
Harav Yitzchak of Skver quoted the Chozeh of Lublin who expressed that “I did not find such wondrous words as in the Zohar, Ohr Hachaim and Meohr Einayim.”
Meohr Einayim was one of the earliest Chassidic works published in Slavita, and it was published alongside other famed Chassidic sefarim as Noam Elimelech (1794); Tanya (1796); and Kedushas Levi (1798).
The first pages of the sefer feature an impressive collection of rare endorsements by the great progenitors of Chassidus and disciples of the Maggid of Mezritch, among them Harav Zusha of Anipoli; Harav Yaakov Shimon of Shepitovka; Harav Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev; Harav Asher Tzvi of Ostroh, author of the Maayan Hachochmah; and Harav Yehuda Leib Hakohein of Anipoli, author of the Ohr Haganuz.
The title page bears the signature of Harav Yaakov Yosef Halberstam Hy”d, grandson of Harav Shalom Eliezer of Ratzfert, son of the Divrei Chaim, who published sefer Darchei Chaim (Satmar, 1940),
