Elegant manuscript including prayers for High Holy Days, Order of Hoshanos, and songs for Simchas Torah sung by Italian Jewish congregations.
The manuscript begins with the sacred piyyut “Achos Ketanah” which is recited in many congregations immediately at the start of Rosh Hashanah at sundown.
Script in straight, even lines. Ornate borders and embellished letters adorned with leaves and crowns.
Page 1a features a large illustration that fills the majority of the page surrounded by the inscription “Book of songs for the High Holy Days.” An illustration with a similar style and inscription appears on page 7b.
