Handwritten, autographed endorsement letter by Hagaon Harav Yaakov Kamenetzky, spiritual leader of American Jewry, requesting a sizable loan on behalf of an impoverished father marrying off his daughters.
Hagaon Harav Yaakov Kamenetzky (1891-1986) was the leader of Orthodox Jewry in America, Rosh Yeshivah of Mesivta Torah Vodaath and member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah in America in the last generation. He authored Emes L’Yaakov on the Torah and Shas.
Following his retirement, he settled in Monsey, NY, where he inscribed this letter. Rabbi Yaakov Kamenetzky is the father of Hagaon Harav Shmuel Kamenetzky shlit”a and grandfather of Rabbi David Kamenetzky.
