Long Autographed letter by the Magelay Tzedek of Daash, Regarding the Welfare of Residents of Tzfas. 1878.
Hagaon Harav Menachem Mendel Panet founded Kollel Ahavas Tzion-Zibenbergen and devoted heart and soul to raising money for the paupers of Eretz Yisrael. In this letter, we reveal his close involvement and attention to detail regarding the distribution of charity funds.
These writings contain a precise, detailed list of donors, some including their mother’s names (as a kvittel); sum of the donation; and name of the gabbai tzedakah who collected the funds.

The letter also mentions over a dozen names of Transylvanian kehillos that donated to Kollel Ahavas Tzion.
The Admor Hagaon Harav Meanchem Mendel Panet, Av Beis Din of Daash, was the son of the Mareh Yechezekel. He founded the Daash Chassidic dynasty and was an illustrious posek, as well as a close disciple of the Chasam Sofer and Yismach Moshe. In 1858, he was appointed Rav of Daash where he soon gained renown as one of the leading sages in his generation. Among his famous writings are Maagalei Tzedek al HaTorah, Shu”t Shaarei Tzedek, Avnei Tzedek and Mishpat Tzedek.
