Archive of Semichah & Endorsement Letters by Lithuanian Sages, (1899-1922)

1. Recommendation letter by Hagaon Harav Tzvi Hirsch Volk, Av Beis Din of Pinsk and author of Kesser Kehunah (1857-1907). Harav Tzvi Hirsch Volk was a disciple of the Beis Halevi and received semichah from the author of the Rosh L’Reuveni. He was a son-in-law of Hagaon Harav Mordechai Gimpel Jaffe, Rav of Pinsk after Hagaon Harav Elazar Moshe Horowitz. 

Written on the bottom is a letter by his father Harav Azriel Volk and brother Harav Moshe Hakohein Jaffe, a shochet and bodek in the city of Charkhov.

 2. Harav Dovid Ravinsky, Rav and Av Beis Din in Pinsk for over 30 years. A disciple of the Netziv of Volozhin, he was renowned as a brilliant, captivating lecturer. He passed away in 1935.

3. Two documents from Harav Yaakov Yitzchak Hindin, dayan in Pinsk. Harav Hindin was the disciple of the illustrious author of the Kesser Kehunah. He journeyed to Eretz Yisrael where he served as Rav in Yerushalayim., and it was there that he wrote and stamped this semichah letter.
 4. Letter by
Harav Avraham Yechezkel Arlozorov, Av Beis Din Charkov (d. 1900), one of the prominent Rabbanim in Lubavitch.

 5. Two items (semichah letter and endorsement letter) by
Harav Yosef Binyamin Shimanowitz, veteran shochet in Yerushalayim. A disciple of the Ksav Sofer and author of Yemin Yosef, he was the right-hand man of Mahari”l Diskin and Harav Shmuel Salant who appointed him to the position of chief shochet in Yerushalayim.

 Semichah Letters of Shochtim and Bodkim in Brisk, Pinsk, Karlin and Babruysk.

Total of 16 letters and documents dated between 1899-1922 in varying sizes and conditions.
