Rare Document Signed by Many Rabbis and Prominent Figures of Tzfas

Includes Blessings and Appreciation to the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendle of Vizhnitz; 1883

Rare, interesting document signed by some 100 rabbis and important members of Tzfas who originated from the Galicia community and were now joining the Vizhnitz Kollel.

The document is split into four columns: The first column lists the names of each recipient, followed by the number of family members, the sums set to be received, and the recipients’ signatures.

The first recipient listed is
Rabbi Meshulam Zussia (Weissblum) of Nadvorna (son of Rabbi Naftali of Lizhensk, son of Rabbi Elazar of Lizhensk, son of the Noam Elimilech), including his seal. This is followed by the signature of his son, Rabbi Naftali of Nadvorna. The list continues with the names and signatures of many other dignitaries.

The document begins with a blessing to the Admor of Vizhnitz: “We are now signing our names with joy that we merited to be part of the Kollel… of the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendle of VIzhnitz… We bless our Admor and all of the members of his household that his days should be lengthened… Monday, 23rd of Kislev, 1883.”

Dated Tzfas, 1883.
