First Edition "Sha’arei Durah” with the “Mavo She’arim” Commentary; Lublin, 1574

Includes Many Handwritten Glosses

Sefer Sha’arei Durah contains halachic rulings authored by Rabbeinu Yitzchak of Dura.

Sha’arei Dura was accepted by the later Rishonim as a reliable source for halachic rulings, to the extent that the Maharsha”l stated that “most times our ruling is like She’arim” (a reference to Sefer Sha’arei Durah).

This Sha’arei Durah is the first edition printed along with the important “Mevo She’arim” treatise, authored by
Rabbeinu Nathan Shapira, grandfather of the Megaleh Amukos.

Besides for its deep and thorough explanation on Sha’arei Durah, Mevo She’arim holds great importance as it contains halachic rulings and customs of Polish, Russian, Lithuanian and Ashkenazic Jewry. This is also the first edition to include additions from the
Terumas HaDeshen.

Handwritten marginalia contain many glosses and corrections written in an old hand from the time of the print.
