Chabad Manuscript: Essays and Explanations Written by Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Havlin

Includes Ma’amarim [Essays] He Heard Firsthand from the Rasha”b Himself

Manuscript containing many various explanations and ma’amarim, homilies and letters from the Chabad dynasty.

Also included is an explanation on Tanya from Rabbi Shmuel Grunem Esterman, one of the renowned influencers of the Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva.

On the first page of the manuscript, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman listed the children born to him between the years 1901-1910.

The colophon reads: Completed on the 13th of Kislev, 1913, here in Chevron.
While various parts of this manuscript were written in different scribal hands, the vast majority was written by Rabbi Shlomo Zalman himself.

Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Havlin (1877 – 1936) was a close Chassid of the Rashab and the Rayatz, and from a young age would review the Rashab’s maamarim. Upon the directive of the Rashab he established the Toras Emes Yeshiva in Chevron. He later established another branch of the yeshiva in Jerusalem upon the directive of the Rayatz. Over the course of his lifetime he taught hundreds of G-d fearing students.
