Personal Siddur of the Holy Admor of Ribnitz

Personal Siddur Beis Yaakov owned by the holy Admor Rabbi Chaim Zanvel Abramowitz of Ribnitz, which the admor himself used for a long period of time while living in Eretz Yisrael.

Siddur Beis Yaakov was compiled by Rabbi Yaakov Emden and is known as the Siddur Yaavetz. It also includes Tehillim and Ma’amados.

Clear signs of use can be found in several places, both in the siddur and in the Tehillim, such as wine stains on the page of the prayer recited upon departing from the sukkah, wax droppings from bedikas chametz, and a name for prayer noted alongside "Refa’einu."

A letter of authentication from the admor’s attendant is written on the inner cover of the binding, verifying that this siddur was used by the admor while residing in Eretz Yisrael. In addition, there is an original photograph of the holy Admor davening from this very siddur.

Rabbi Chaim Zanvil Abramowitz of Ribnitz (1902-1995), known as the “Ribnitzer Rebbe, ” was born in Botosani, Romania. Orphaned as a child, he was raised by Rabbi Avraham Matisyahu of Shtefanesht who treated him as an only son. He lived in Ribnitz, which lies in current day Moldova. He began practicing holy behaviors already in his youth; immersing himself in frozen rivers and risking his life by traveling to circumcise and slaughter in accordance with Jewish law under watchful communist guard. He miraculously survived Nazi occupation and it was during this era that his name spread as a miracle worker, with countless stories attesting to his holy powers. In 1972, the Ribnitzer immigrated to Eretz Yisrael and then to the United States. Those who approached him for blessing and advice testified that he possessed Divine spirit. He passed away in Monsey where thousands flock to his grave.
