Sefer Ohev Yisrael is a fundamental Chassidic text.

In his introduction, Rabbi Meshulam Zusha of Zhinkov, the grandson of the Ohev Yisrael, reasons why the sefer is titled “Ohev Yisrael", explaining that this was one of the Admor’s most dominant traits.

Indeed, the Ohev Yisrael directed that this be the only description written upon his gravestone.
This sefer includes endorsements from
Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl and
Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura.

This first edition was published in Zhitomir, 1863, by the brothers, Rabbi Chanina Lipa and Rabbi Yehoshua Heschil Shapira, grandsons of the Rabbi of Slavita.
