Printed announcement regarding upcoming elections signed by Rabbi Shmuel Bornstein of Sochatchov, author of Shem Mishmuel, including his personal seal.
“As the day of voting for the heads of the parties is nearing and approaching, I come with a request that you do all that is in your power to choose only people who are upright in their knowledge of Hashem and his Torah and keep his mitzvos… And we must take care that it should not fall in the hands of people who are not Torah observant, because experience has shown that their entire purpose is to suppress the entire matter of religion…”
The Shem MiShmuel Admor- Rabbi Shmuel Bornstein of Sochatchov (1856-1926) was the son and disciple of the Avnei Nezer. Already in his youth he was recognized as a brilliant prodigy. Following the passing of the Avnei Nezer, the Chassidim of Sochotchov unanimously crowned him as their leader and he led them faithfully in his father’s approach. He published sefer Shem MiShmuel on Torah and holidays.
