Letter of Torah Novellae from the Admor Rabbi Yekusiel Yehuda Halberstam of Sanz-Klausenberg, Author of “Shefa Chaim”

Letter of Torah novellae commentating on Me’il Shmuel by Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Yudelevitz.

Rabbi Yekusiel Yehuda signs off the letter with a handwritten note explaining that he wrote these novellae in a hurry, “…almost without inspection… And at times like these, when we have nothing but the Torah, and it is our life, may Hashem grant me the merit to
TO DWELL IN THE WORLD OF HALACHAH…”

The novellae are typewritten with handwritten edits and erasures from Rabbi Yekusiel Yehuda, as well as a handwritten paragraph ending with his signature.

These responsa were published in Responsa Divrei Yatziv, Part Two, but without the Admor’s concluding remarks.

Rabbi Yekusiel Yehuda Halberstam (1905-1994) was a holy and righteous admor who was well versed in both the Hidden and Revealed Torah. Following World War II, he dedicated his life to assisting fellow survivors both physically and spiritually. He rebuilt the Sanz Chassidus, establishing Torah institutions, organizations and the Kiryat Sanz neighborhood in Netanya. His novellae are published in Shefa Chaim.
