Kashrus certificate signed by the Admor of Pupa; Rabbi Chaim Halberstam, ab”d of Satmar; and Rabbi Yeshaya Kleinman.

The front side of the page bears a letter from Rabbi Yosef Spiegel, a Satmar wine merchant, addressed to the rabbis of New York. The reverse side includes testimony from the aforementioned rabbis attesting to Rabbi Yosef Spiegel’s integrity and kashrus status.

Rabbi Yosef Greenwald (1903-1984) was the son of Rabbi Yaakov Yechezkiya Greenwald, son of the Arugas HaBosem. Following his marriage he served as the dayan of Satmar and as the right hand of the Keren L’David. He immigrated to the United States after World War II, where he reestablished his beis midrash and yeshiva. Rabbi Aharon of Belz attested that Rabbi Yosef Greenwald never tasted sin in his life.

Rabbi Chaim Halberstam (1884-1941) was the eldest son of Rabbi Shalom Eliezer of Ratzfert and served as the ab”d of Satmar. His grandfather, Rabbi Mordechai Dov- the Admor of Hornesteiple, held Rabbi Chaim in high esteem and exchanged many letters of responsa with him. He was known as a steadfast zealot who fought to preserve authentic Judaism.

Rabbi Yeshaya Kleinman (1871-1937) was a great Torah scholar of Satmar. He grew up in the home of his uncle, Rabbi Yeshaya’le of Kerestirer, and would join him on his travels to the rabbis and admorim. He studied under the Arugas Habosem and became his close disciple of his. He was appointed dayan of Satmar and was one of the leading voices in the rabbinate there. Although the majority of his writings were lost in the war, remnants of his Torah novellae were published in Keren Yeshaya and at the end of his father-in-law’s sefer, Birkas Avraham.
