First Edition “Derech Pikudecha” Authored by the Bnei Yissaschar; Lemberg, 1851
Explanations on the mitzvos by Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech of Dinov, known as the “Bnei Yissaschar.”
In his sefer, the Bnei Yissaschar explains each mitzvah in three ways:
Action– the laws of the mitzva as is brought down in halacha;
words– novellae and insights from the Bnei Yissaschar himself, and
thought – the depth of each mitzvah according to the secrets of Torah and Chassidus.
While it was intended for the sefer to go through all 613 mitzvos, only the first 58 mitzvos were published. Some say this alludes to the 58 years of the Bnei Yisaschar’s lifetime.
This first edition was published in Lemberg, 1851.
