Handwritten letter from the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendle Halberstam of Stropkov, addressed to his nephew, Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam of Stropkov, author of Divrei Yechezkel Shraga.

Following the Holocaust, Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga served as a Rabbi in Germany and intended to immigrate to Eretz Yisrael.

In response to this, his uncle, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Stropkov, wrote to him: "Regarding what you wrote that it is your desire to immigrate to Eretz Yisrael, I was very surprised, because in my opinion it is not wise to travel there in these times.
And I spoke about you with the Rabbi of Klausenberg, shlit"a …
The reverse side of the letter includes a handwritten list from Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga.

Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Stropkov (1879-1954) was the son of Rabbi Avraham Shalom of Stropkov, son of the holy Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga of Shinowa, son of Rabbi Chaim of Sanz. Upon his arrival in America after World War II, he was looked up to as a remnant member of prewar tzaddikim and admired and respected by all of the admorim. His Torah novellae are published in Divrei Menachem
