Handwritten Endorsement from Rabbi Menachem Mendel Halberstam of Frysztak, Son-in-law of Admor Rabbi Yechezkel of Shinowa

Handwritten and signed letter from Rabbi Menachem Mendle Halberstam of Frysztak endorsing assistance for a scholarly resident of Frysztak.

The letter also includes a handwritten line of endorsement from Rabbi Yisrael Aharon Katz Englard, AB"D of Frysztak.

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Halberstam (1870-1926) was the son of Rabbi Aryeh Leibush, ab”d of Dukla, and grandson of Rabbi David of Kashnow, son of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. He married the daughter of Rabbi Yechezkel of Shinowa and was the father of the Admor Rabbi Chana of Kolshitz. He was humble by nature and refused the position of admor, instead serving as rabbi of Dukla and Frysztak.

Rabbi Yisrael Aharon Katz Englander was a dayan in Frysztak and served alongside Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Frysztak. He was a remarkable Torah scholar and a prominent Galician dayan. He published the Ma’ayan Ganim manuscript of Rabbi Menachem Azaria (Rama) of Pano with an approbation from the holy Shinover.

Undated (Prior to 1932).
