Letter from Rabbi Ezra HaCohen Fried, AB”D of Tiszabercel and Son of the Pnei Meivin
Handwritten letter from Rabbi Ezra HaCohen Fried, son of the Pnei Meivin, addressed to the presidents of Kollel Hungary.
In his letter, Rabbi Ezra writes that he was appointed Rabbi in place of his father-in-law and expresses his desire to serve as a
gabbai of the Kollel just as his father had been, thus requesting a nezer gabba’us.
Rabbi Ezra HaKohen Fried was the son Rabbi Nesanel HaKohen, Av Beis Din of Balmazújváros and author of Responsa Pnei Meivin, and son-in-law of Rabbi Gershon Avraham Goldberg, Av Beis Din of Tiszabercel and author of sefer Nachalas HaGershuni (see lot 90) . He perished in the Holocaust.
His Torah novellae were published at the beginning of sefer Pnei Mevin on Torah and in various published articles during his time.
