Rabbi Yoel Tzvi Roth, AB"D Chust, Author of Beis HaYotzer
Long letter of Torah novellae and personal regards handwritten by Rabbi Yoel Tzvi Roth, addressed to his son, Rabbi Moshe Shimon Roth, Av Beis Din of Diyora and author of Shem MiShimon.
Rabbi Yoel Tzvi Roth (1819 – 1892) was the Av Beis Din of Chust and author of Beis HaYotzer Responsa. He was the prized disciple of the Maharam Ash and frequently traveled to Sanz, there he was cherished by the Divrei Chaim.
Rabbi Rephael Segal Tzimetbaum, close shamash of Rabbi Chaim of Sanz, describes:
"He was an elevated, holy and pure tzaddik, and most of the day he sat adorned in tallis and tefillin and learned. He frequently traveled to our Rebbe and he was very fond of him, and he was a miracle-worker."
Dated Tuesday, Parshas Pikudei, 1867, the letter is entirely handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yoel Tzvi.
