Invitation to the Wedding of Rabbi Nachum Partzovitz; Jerusalem, 1951
Invitation to the wedding of a young Rabbi Nachum Partzovitz. His maternal uncle Rabbi Meir Karelitz, brother of the Chazon Ish and his paternal uncle Rabbi Yechezkel Partzovitz, Rosh Yeshiva of the Tiferes Tzvi Yeshiva represented Rabbi Nachum, as he had no surviving immediate family.
Rabbi Nachum Partzovitz fled along with the rest of the Mir students to Shanghai and remained there for the duration of World War II. Upon the conclusion of the war, he immigrated to the United States for a short time and from there to Eretz Yisrael. There, he joined the Mir Yeshiva and was eventually chosen by the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Chaim Shmuelevitz, as a son-in-law. Rabbi Nachum later succeeded Rabbi Chaim as Rosh Yeshiva of Mir.
