Manuscript: ‘Kol Yehuda’ Authored by Rabbi Yehuda Leib of Ofina.
Including Homilies from Rabbi Moshe Yitzchak HaLevi,
AB”D of Ponovizh

Sefer Mivchar HaPninim including an extensive explanation titled ‘Kol Yehuda, ’ authored by Rabbi Yehuda Leib of Ponovizh. Also included are drashos and Aggadic novellae from Rabbi Yehuda Leib’s teacher, Rabbi Moshe Yitzchak HaLevi, Av Beis Din of Ponovizh.
This Kol Yehuda commentary from Rabbi Yehuda Leib was published in Vilna, 1875. It is apparent from Rabbi Gershon Mandel’s endorsement to this commentary, that Rabbi Yehuda Leib had plans to publish Rabbi Moshe Yitzchak of Ponovizh’s drashos in a sefer titled ‘Pnei Moshe.’ However, this treatise was never published and remained in manuscript form.
Present here in this manuscript are eleven large Drashos and Aggadic explanations from Rabbi Moshe Yitzchak that have never been brought to print.

Rabbi Moshe Yitzchak HaLevi of Ponovizh (1807 – 1870) was a brilliant Torah scholar and a prized disciple of Rabbi Hirsch Broida of Salant and Rabbi Eliyahu Regolar. The ‘Tiferes Yisrael’ quotes him several times in his treatise on mishnayos, calling him “a man who is hard like iron.” Of his many novellae, only his glosses on tractate brachos were brought to print, and several novellae compiled from various sefarim were published at the end of sefer Chidushei Yechiel authored by his grandson.
Page 74 includes a eulogy of Rabbi Moshe Yitzchak from the aforementioned disciple.
