A manuscript of Rabbi Yehuda HaChassid’s will handwritten in Ashkenazi script is Included at the conclusion of this volume, dating back to the time of its printing. The colophon states: “I have found the will [of Rabbi Yehuda HaChassid] up until here. I have also found the above will in an ancient handwriting by the community of Frankfurt, and in it was written at the end of the will that the Tatars are destined to come to the land of Ashkenaz and destroy it…” [presumably referring to the Chmielnitzky Massacres of 1648–1649.]
