Shocking Document Used to gather Testimony on the Victims of Auschwitz Signed by the Admor Rabbi Meshulem Feish Segal of Tosh; 1946

Special printed questionnaire signed by Rabbi Meshulem Feish Segal, the Admor of Tosh, collecting testimony regarding a victim of Auschwitz for the purpose of allowing her husband to remarry.

One of the chilling questions asked on this document inquires which side the victim was directed to in Auschwitz. The handwritten answer reads:
“to the left side.”
Rabbi Meshulem Feish’s signature can be found on the second line. At the time of signing this document, the Admor was a mere twenty-five years old, yet was already renowned for his tremendous greatness.
There are additional signatures as well from Rabbi Chaim Berger, Rosh Av Beis Din of Mishkolcz, author of Birchos Chai, and Rabbi Chanoch Elimelech Weider.

Rabbi Meshulem Feish Segal (1921 – 2015) was the Admor of Tosh and one of the last surviving admorim of Hungary following the Holocaust. During the Holocaust Rabbi Meshulem was deported to a forced labor camp in Kashau where he risked his life keeping Shabbos and kashrus. Following World War II he rebuilt the Tosh Chassidus, eventually immigrating to Canada where he established flourishing Torah institutions. People flocked to him from around the world to seek his blessings and prayers.

Dated Miskolc, 1946.
