Famous Response Regarding ‘Heter Mechira’ Signed (Twice) by the Avnei Nezer, Handwritten by His Son, the Shem M’Shmuel;
Sochatchov, 1903

Long Halachic response from Rabbi Avraham Bornstein, Av Beis Din of Sochatchov and author of Avnei Nezer, regarding the matter of selling land in Eretz Yisrael  to a non-Jew during the year of shmita.(AKA Heter Mechira)

Handwritten by Rabbi Avraham’s son, the Shem MiShmuel, the response is written across four large pages and is signed by the Avnei Nezer twice: once at the conclusion of the response on page 3, and once at the end of page 4.
The Shem MiShmuel assisted his father in organizing his writings and published his Avnei Nezer responsa. This manuscript is identical to other manuscripts of the Shem MiShmuel.
The original question was posed by Rabbi Yechiel Michel Heilpern, Av Beis Din of the Ashkenazic community in Tiberias, during the shmita year of 1903, regarding the pioneers of the Yavniel settlement.

The present response is published in Avnei Nezer Responsa. However, in the published version the name of the rabbi posing the question is missing along with the date and conclusion.
