Chefetz Hashem is the very first compilation authored by the Ohr HaChaim which he brought to print when he was 36 years old, while still residing in Salé, Morocco.
Included in the sefer’s introduction are important details regarding the life of the Ohr HaChaim, such as his daily schedule, his rabbis and the struggles and suffering he endured.
This first edition was published in Amsterdam, 1732, and includes an endorsement from the chachamim of Fes and Salé.
