Handwritten letter from Rabbi Aharon Levin addressed to the leaders of the United States Agudas HaRabbanim, regarding the whereabouts of an absconded woman.

Rabbi Aharon Levin (1879 – 1940) was the son of Rabbi Nathan Levin, Av Beis Din of Risha, son-in-law of Rabbi Yitzchak Shmelkes, author of Beis Yitzchak. Rabbi Aharon was one of the rabbinical leaders of Poland prior to the World War and was a remarkable Torah scholar. He was ordained by his grandfather, Rabbi Yitzchak Shmelkes, on the eve of his wedding. He was a member of the Polish Sejm in Warsaw and a leader of Agudas Yisrael. He was appointed Rabbi of Sambir and later succeeded his father’s position in Risha. He authored Responsa Avnei Chefetz and others.
