Handwritten Halachic responsa letter from Rabbi Mordechai Zev Ettinge of Levov, addressed to Rabbi Yaakov Shlomo Heilprin, Av Beis Din of Danube and Peremyshlyany.

Rabbi Mordechai Zev Ettinge (1804 – 1863) was a leading Galician rabbi. A disciple of his uncle, the Yeshuos Yaakov, he studied Torah with his brother-in-law, Rabbi Yosef Shaul Nathanson, author of Shoel U’Meishiv, for many years.
The two of them became known as the Meforshei Hayam. He authored Meforshei Hayam, Magen Gibborim and others . His responsa were published in Responsa Ma’amar Mordechai.
He founded Kollel Estreich together with Rabbi Chaim of Kossov and was the father of Rabbi Yitzchak Aharon Ettinge, Av Beis Din of Lelov.
