Rabbi Shimon Shalom of Amshinov; long impressive letter 1934.

Emotional letter from Rabbi Shimon Shalom of Amshinov addressed to the residents of Galicia. In it, he beseeches that they increase their donations to Kollel Galicia, whose members were living in dire poverty.
Having lived in Eretz Yisrael for a year, Rabbi Shimon Shalom experienced the situation there firsthand. He refutes the rumor that the financial situation in Eretz Yisrael was currently good and calls for the revival of the Rabbi Meir Baal Hanes fund in support of those learning Torah in Eretz Yisrael.
The letter is entirely handwritten and signed by the Admor.
Rabbi Shimon Shalom of Amshinov (1882 – 1954) was a leading Admor in Poland prior to World War II. He was deeply proficient in both the Revealed and Hidden Torah . Known for his exceptional Ahavas Yisrael, he led a following of thousands of Chassidim. He fled to Vilna at the start of World War II where he continued on to Shanghai and then eventually to the United States.
Dated Otwock, 1934.
