Signature of Rabbi Shalom Halberstam of Stropkov on sefer Sha’ar HaHakdamos by Rabbi Chaim Vital, including a handwritten edit from him.
Rabbi Shalom signs his name in full and his seal can be found several times throughout the sefer. On page 87a there is a handwritten edit from Rabbi Shalom.
There is an original place-holder on page 18a marked with the date (9th of Elul ש’ תפא"ר לפ"ק).
Sha’ar HaHakdamos by Rabbi Chaim Vital was published in Jerusalem, 1909. It includes glosses and explanations from Rabbi Shimshon Sason and was edited by the Kabbalist Rabbi Menachem Menchin Heilperin.
Rabbi Avraham Shalom of Stropkov (1856 – 1940) was the son of Rabbi Yechezkel of Shinowa and grandson of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. He was renowned as a holy miracle-wroker who brought salvation upon many, particularly childless couples. Beginning in the year 1898 he served as Rabbi of Stropkov and was succeeded his father’s position as Admor .
