Important Letter from Author of Kol Aryeh the Holy  Rabbi Avraham Yehuda HaCohen Schwartz, ; 1878
Handwritten and signed letter from Rabbi Avraham Yehuda HaCohen Schwartz of Beregszász addressed to Rabbi Gershon HaLevi Rosenbaum, Av Beis Din of Talia .
Rabbi Avraham Yehuda HaCohen Schwartz (1824 – 1884) was a leading Hungarian Rabbi who served as Av Beis Din of Beregszász and Mad. He was one of the last disciples of the Chassam Sofer and himself taught many who would go on to become prominent Torah leaders, such as the Beis Naftali, the Gaon of Shimloy, the Baal Erech Shai, Rabbi Nesanel Fried – author of Pnei Meivin, Rabbi Shaul Rosenberg of Ratzfert, Rabbi Gershon Stern – author of Yalkut Gershuni, and many others.
His name spread far and wide as a miracle worker with many miraculous stories accredited to him. People flocked to him from all over in order to hear his Torah and prayers. He remained in close correspondence with the rabbinical leaders of the generation and traveled frequently to Rabbi Chaim of Sanz, who said: "I know a real talmid chacham in Hungary , and that is Rabbi Avraham Leib of Beregszász."
Dated Beregszász, 1878.
