Remarkable Letter Calling for the Establishment of a Chortkov Chassidic Settlement in Eretz Yisrael, Signed by Rabbi Nachum Mordechai of Chortkov; Vienna 1926

"I have come once again to give over my thanks to him, on behalf of the Admor, shlit"a for his efforts in favor of the idea of establishing a settlement, named Beis David (after Rabbi David Moshe of Chortkov), in our holy land…"
Impressive letter completely handwritten and signed by the holy Rabbi Nachum Mordechai of Chortkov, regarding the establishment of a settlement named for Rabbi David Moshe of Chortkov.
Details regarding the establishment of the Beis David settlement in Eretz Yisrael are largely unknown. This letter reveals more details into this fascinating matter.
Rabbi Yisrael of Chortkov was heavily involved in the matter and is the one who chose to name the settlement "Beis David." For various reasons, this settlement never materialized.
Rabbi Nachum Mordechai (1874 – 1946) was the third Admor of the great Chortkov dynasty. He was exceptionally close to his grandfather, Rabbi Dovid Moshe, serving as the continuation of his path. His grandfather, Rabbi David Moshe, would refer to Rabbi Nachum Mordechai as his "holy grandson."
