Chabad: Letter from the Raya"tz Including Segula for Children; Detroit, 1930

" ויתן לו השי"ת שפע ברכה בעסקיו"

Letter of encouragement sent by Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn of Lubavitch to a childless couple, encouraging the addressee to set aside time for Torah study, and advising the couple to host Torah scholars as a segulah for children.
"…He and his wife should attempt to host a guest who is a ben Torah from time to time, especially on the holy Shabbos… because the blessing of a ben Torah is very beloved before Hashem. And Hashem shall strengthen your health and gladden your hearts with the blessing of offspring… (Signed, ) Yosef Yitzchak."
Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn (1880 – 1950) was the sixth Admor of the Chabad dynasty and served as Admor beginning in 1920. He worked tirelessly to strengthen religion in Russia under Soviet rule, establishing an underground network of talmudei Torah and yeshivos. He was imprisoned as a result and sentenced to death, but was later released. In 1940 he immigrated to the United States where he continued leading the large Chabad Chassidus.
