Signed Letter from Rabbi Moshe Perlow of Stolin Requesting Assistance for the Inhabitants of Eretz Yisrael
Signed letter from Rabbi Moshe of Stolin, written upon his return from a visit to Eretz Yisrael in 1933.
Rabbi Moshe writes: "I was glad to see… G-d fearing and complete communities who are busy with the Torah and the service of G-d with real mesirus nefesh. Indeed, my heart aches deeply for the depths of their harsh reality; a life of sorrow and poverty… It is an early tradition that charity is a great segula to be saved…"
This typewritten letter includes a handwritten line as well as the signature and seal of the Admor.
Rabbi Moshe Perlow
of Stolin was the son of Rabbi Yisrael of Stolin who was known by all the Yenuka of Stolin. A gifted Torah scholar, Rabbi Moshe succeeded his father’s position as Admor beginning in 1922. He led a following of thousands of Chassidim and established a large Yeshiva in Stolin. He was murdered in the Holocaust on the 29th of Elul, 1942.
