Postcard Handwritten and Signed by the Rogatchover, Rabbi Yosef Rosen of Dvinsk
Torah novellae handwritten and signed by the holy Rogatchover.
Rabbi Yosef Rosen of Dvinsk (1858 – 1936), known by all as the Rogatchover, was renown by all as a tremendous Torah scholar who possessed a remarkable depth of Torah.
His son-in-law, Rabbi Abba David Goldfein, remarked:
"My father-in-law was detached from three matters: eating, drinking and sleeping. He did not wash his hands for a meal besides for on Shabbos, and during the week would suffice on several grapes alone. The same was with drinking. He would drink little and never laid on a bed to sleep. He would doze just a bit… all this was in order not to waste even one moment of learning."
