Handwritten Letter from Rabbi Binyamin Shlomo Segal Spitzer to Maharam Schick; Pressburg, 1846

Handwritten letter from Rabbi Binyamin Shlomo Zalman Segal Spitzer, son-in-law of the Chassam Sofer, addressed to the Maharam Schick.
Dated Pressburg, 1846, the letter regards assisting his Rabbi in sending his son, who was living in Mattersdorf, The second half of the letter relate a question and response from his Rabbi on tractate Bechoros.
Rabbi Binyamin Shlomo Zalman Segal Spitzer (1896 – 1889) was the son-in-law of the Chassam Sofer and Av Beis Din of Vienne. He was a disciple of the Ksav Sofer and Maharam Schick.. Following his marriage, he lived in Pressburg becoming a Rabbi and Dayan there. He later became Av Beis Din of Vienne. He authored Tikkun Shlomo – Simlas Binyamin which includes homilies and novellae.
