Segula of the Chassam Sofer’s Manuscripts:
Once, when a Halachic response from the Chassam Sofer arrived at Rabbi Mardechai Banet , he studied it for some time. When those around him inquired if there was a problem, he replied that no, he was studying the response because "just looking at the holy handwriting is a segula for Heavenly fear."
Rabbi Shimon Sofer of Krakow, author of the Michtav Sofer, would peruse handwritten letter from his holy father before making important decisions in the Austrian Parliament.

Rabbi Moshe Sofer was the son-in-law of Rabbi Akiva Eiger who attested that he possessed Divine spirtit. His prized disciple, the Maharam Schick, eulogized him and said,
"the Divine spirit and presence of the shechina were evident upon [him]…" A was a world renowned Torah scholar, he was deeply revered by the greatest leaders of his time.
The Avnei Nezer said that
"G-d stood near his pen [ensuring] that he did not err."
