Complicated Halachic question which had sparked a

disagreement among the rabbis of Vienna, addressed to

Rabbi Shmuel Engel for his final ruling.

The response was written by Rabbi Yechiel Michel Sperber

of Vienna and includes several handwritten lines from Rabbi Chaim Galeranter, Av Beis Din of Kitev and its environs.

Rabbi Chaim Galeranter (1857 – 1929) was a descendant

of Rabbi Yisrael Charif of Satinov, author of Ateres Tiferes

Yisrael. He served as the Av Beis Din of Kitev.
