Handwritten Letter from Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer; Berlin, 1865

Handwritten and signed letter from Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer addressed to Rabbi Eliyahu Menachem Goitein, Av Beis Din of Hőgyész and grandson of the Kessef Nivchar.

The first half of the letter is a response to a questions posed by Rabbi Eliyahu Menachem, likely regarding the printing of his grandfather’s sefer Kessef Nivchar. The second half of the letter contains Torah novellae.

Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer (1820 – 1899) was a renowned rabbinical leader, Rabbi of the Adas Yisrael community in Berlin and founder of the Rabbinical Beis Midrash in Berlin.His manuscripts were published in Chiddushim V’Teshuvos Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer.
