"When we wrote it, we clarified it well"

Chafetz Chaim’s Remark on His Sefer Mishnah Brurah as Heard by Rabbi Yitzchak Hutner

Letter from Rabbi Yitzchak Hutner addressed to his relative, Rabbi Nathan Zochovsky, including comments on his sefer Dvir HaKodesh.
In his letter, Rabbi Yitzchak recounts a fascinating encounter with the Chafetz Chaim. He writes:
"
In those days, close to the publishing of sefer Toras Hanazir, I happened to travel from Vilna to Radin. And when I parted from Rabbi Chaim Ozer, he told me that when I would be in Radin, I should try to voice my argument on the ruling of the Mishna Brurah in the ears of the Chafetz Chaim. Of course I did as he told me… [The Chafetz Chaim] told me in these words,  "At the  time that we wrote it , we clarified it well."

The ruling in question regards the Mishna Brura’s ruling in siman 62 concerning the parameters of "language" pertaining to Shema. Rabbi Yitzchak noted that based on the Mishna Brurah, one who recites Shema in ‘

Esperanto’ has not fulfilled his obligation, as there is no particular place where this language is spoken.
This typewritten letter is dated Brooklyn, NY 1966, and signed by Rabbi Yitzchak Hutner.
