First Edition Vilna Gaon : Sefer Eliyahu Rabba; Brunn, 1802
Commentary on the Mishnah in seder Taharos from the Vilna Gaon, published by his disciple, Rabbi Meir of Vilna.
At the beginning of the volume, there is a letter of endorsement from the Vilna Gaon, as well as an endorsement from his brother, Rabbi Yissachar Ber, who testifies that Rabbi Meir studied taharos by the Vilna Gaon several times. Also included are endorsements from the Mahara"m Binet and other rabbis of Prague.
The Dikdukei Sofrim writes in his introduction to sefer Ga’on Yaakov, that Rabbi Yaakov Kahana, son-in-law of Rabbi Yissachar, edited the sefer and readied it for print.
This first edition was published in Brunn, 1802.
