Rabbi Shmuel Rozovsky (1913 – 1979) was the Rosh Yeshiva of Ponovezh and a prominent Torah leader in the last generation. Following the war, Rabbi Shmuel served as a bridge between the Torah world of prewar Lithuania and the new generation. He married Rebbetzin Esther Liba, daughter of Rabbi Tzvi Pesach Frank, Rabbi of Jerusalem. His father-in-law accorded him much respect and enjoyed discussing Torah matters with him, both verbally and in writing. He would refer to Rabbi Shmuel as "a living sefer Torah."
