Rabbi Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz (1914 – 2011) was a world renowned Torah leader of the post-Holocaust generation. He served as Rosh Yeshiva of Ponoviezh and spread Torah for seventy years, sixty of them in Ponovezh. Thousands flocked to him from near and far in pursuit of advice and blessing. He was an avid zealot for the continuity of traditional and authentic Judaism, and served as a member of the Mo’etzes Gedolei HaTorah.
