Shi’urim Controversy: Strongly Written Letter by Rabbi Avraham Chaim Na’eh Oppsoing Sefer Eifas Tzeddek by the Steipler

Rabbi Chaim Na’eh authored a well-known sefer on shiurim (measurements). The Chazon Ish opposed the opinion of Rabbi Chaim Na’eh, and his brother-in-law, the Steipler, published the Chazon Ish’s view in the sefer Eifas Tzeddek.
Thus began the great controversy between Rabbi Chaim Na’eh and the Steipler.
In this letter, Rabbi Chaim Na’eh strongly opposes the Steipler’s sefer Eifas Tzeddek.
Rabbi Chaim writes that while he does not intend to print a book against Eifas Tzeddek, he might attach a pamphlet of his objections to a future essay.

Although the Chazon Ish famously disagreed with Rabbi Chaim Na’eh’s opinion on shi’urim, he valued him and accorded him much respect.

Dated Jerusalem, 1949, this double-sided letter is typewritten and signed by Rabbi Avraham Chaim Na’eh.
