Letter from the Ridva"z Regarding Release of His Sefarim Detained by American Tax Authorities; Ein Zeitim near Tzfas, 1906


Letter from the holy Ridva"z requesting assistance in dealing with American tax authorities who had confiscated his sefarim and manuscripts.  The Ridva"z expresses worry that officials might open his cartons and damage the printing plates of his new sefer.
The letter is addressed to Rabbi Dov Ber Abramowitz, written while the Ridva"z was residing in Ein Zeitim, near Tzfas. The Ridva"z apologizes that his work must be done by others due to his poor health.
