Rare Letter from Rabbi Shlomo Kluger, Brody 1854

"
When he sees my sefer
he will delight in it because it is more precious than all my treatises."

Letter written entirely by the holy Rabbi Shlomo Kluger, Av Beis Din of Brody.

Rabbi Shlomo authored more than one hundred and fifty
sefarim, about fifty of which were brought to print. In this letter, Rabbi Shlomo attests that one particular
sefer "is more precious than all of my treatises because it is a compilation that includes everything."

It appears that he is referring to
sefer Nidrei Zerizin which had been brought to print around the time of this letter. Nidrei Zerizin is indeed an impressive volume in both quality and quantity, including compilations pertaining to all of Talmud.

Additionally, Rabbi Shlomo writes of his difficulty responding to letters,
"…because I am very weak of strength… and I do not have strength to respond. And I do not respond at all to more than half of those who write to me, only to matters of extreme importance…"

Rabbi Shlomo Kluger (1785 – 1869) was among the
gedolei achronim and served as the Rosh Av Beis Din of Brody for close to fifty years. One of the greatest respondents of all time, he composed
sefarim on all genres of Torah.
