Rare Letter in Lashon Kodesh from Rabbi Samson Refael Hirsch, Frankfurt am Mein 1879

"
The good G-d, with His great kindness, will relieve us from all worries, and may He show us only joy in all of our descendants, and only good and kindness shall pursue us all the days of our lives."

Letter of well-wishes sent in response to a letter from Rabbi Moshe Leib Katz, Dayan of Nikolsburg, whom Rabbi Samson Refael knew from his tenure as rabbi of Nikolsburg.
Since the majority of Rabbi Samson Refael’s writings are in German, letters written in Lashon Kodesh, such as this one, are rare. This letter is entirely handwritten and signed by Rabbi Samson Refael himself.

Rabbi Samson Refael Hirsch (1808 – 1888) was one of the greatest leaders of Ashkenazi Jewry. He valiantly fought against the Enlightenment and assimilation, and being a prolific writer, authored many articles of guidance addressed to the youth. His teachings have become a cornerstone of Ashkenazi worldview.
