Handwritten Letter from the Steipler, Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky and Rebbetzin Kanievsky, Addressed to Rabbi Elyashiv

"
Regards to everyone, a kosher and joyous holiday and only good upon everyone. Thank G-d we are all feeling good. Yours, Batsheva."

Letter of blessing sent before an upcoming Holiday, written by Rebbetzin Batsheva Kanievsky and addressed to her illustrious father, Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv. Her husband, Rabbi Chaim, appended a note of his own; "
I too inquire of their wellbeing, Chaim."

Postmarked the 13th of Nissan, 1961, these letters were inscribed on the back-side of a letter sent from the Steipler to Rabbi Elyashiv, which includes a halachic question from him.

Rebbetzin Batsheva Kanievsky (1932 – 2011) was the eldest daughter of Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv. In 1951 she married Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky and began seeing women seeking advice and blessing sometime around the year 1989; an almost nonexistent phenomenon in the
litvish world. She encouraged and prayed for women on a daily basis, often recommending various
segulos. She passed away suddenly on Shabbos Chol Hamoed of Sukkos, 2011.
