Handwritten List of Kabbalos (Resolutions) from the Tzaddik Rabbi Elya Lopian

Handwritten and signed list of resolutions made by Rabbi Eliyahu Lopian regarding his
avodas Hashem, including various areas of prayer, blessings and learning. The list is also signed by Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Palei, a disciple of Rabbi Elya.

The list consists of eleven various resolutions: five regard having the proper intent during prayers and blessings, another one regards Shabbos, where he resolves "
on the holy Shabbos not to hold a grudge in the heart, " and the rest regard setting aside time for daily learning sessions of
mussar,
sefer Chafetz Chaim, "
shnayim mikrah, " etc.

Rabbi Elya also marked an amount to be fined upon non compliance of a resolution. For instance, 5 piastre for not having proper intent while reciting G-d’s name, 10 piastre for not learning at least fifteen daily minutes of
mussar, and so on.
Remarkably, these resolutions were made when Rabbi Elya was already in his seventies!

Rabbi Eliyahu Lopian (1876 – 1970) was a leading figure of the
mussar movement from the last generations. A disciple of Kelm, he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1949 where he spread the teachings of
mussar and Torah. In 1950 he was appointed Mashgiach of Kfar Chassidim. His Torah novellae were published in the
sefer Lev Eliyahu, edited and organized by his close disciple, Rabbi Shalom Schwadron.
