Rare Letter from Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky Regarding Assembly of Roshei Yeshivos Attended by the Chafetz Chaim, and Other Communal Matters
"
This past week I wrote to your honor about the assembly of Roshei Mesivtah’s after the holiday of Pesach… as well as the Vaad Hayeshivos and other general matters. The Chafetz Chaim shlit"a
also participated in the assembly. As per the meeting, telegrams were sent to the Central (organization) and the Joint (organization) and to the Aggudas Harabbanim, urging them to look into the continuation of the existence of Torah institutions."
Rare letter handwritten in Iyar of 1927 by Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky, Av Beis Din of Vilna. The letter showcases the deep care of Rabbi Chaim Ozer towards the well-being of every individual, and grants a glimpse into his personal life as well.
In his letter, Rabbi Chaim Ozer requests assistance for Rabbi Chanoch Henoch Eiges, author of Marcheshes, whose wife was ill and in need of medical support:
"I ask that you see to it to support a great person such as he in his difficulty."
Further on in the letter, Rabbi Chaim Ozer writes regarding himself,
"I am very tired and weary and I should really travel from here, but the elections for the communities stop me… I am thinking to travel abroad this time, because even in Druskininkai [a resort town near Vilna]… I did not find rest."
