Original Autograph from the Famed Ohr Sameach, Rabbi Meir Simcha HaCohen of Dvinsk

Autograph postcard from Rabbi Meir SImcha HaCohen of Dvinsk, addressed to Rabbi Moshe Ruzhin, regarding the printing of his
sefer Ohr Sameach [part four] in Warsaw, Poland.

Rabbi Meir Simcha shares how he traveled to Warsaw in order to print the
sefer, "
and it is already complete in my opinion, but it is missing the binding, and I will come here some time after the holiday, with the will of G-d."

Rabi Meir Simcha goes on to describe how ill he is:
"and I am greatly ill in my throat, may G-d heal me, and the doctors instructed me to speak little, and because of this I could not lecture on Shabbos HaGadol like my usual way… and it is possible that after the holiday perhaps I will travel to the places of professors. May G-d grant me life and health and restore me to my full strength… with love, Meir Simcha Cohen."
Postcard dated 1904

Rabbi Meir Simcha HaCohen was among the great Torah scholars of Lithuania and author of the famed Ohr Sameach and Meshech Chachma. He was fluent in all parts of the Torah, as is evident in his holy compilations, and was respected by the leaders of his time for his wisdom and holy character.
